Nix's three years at Oregon (2022 transfer, 2023 Heisman finalist, 2024 Pac-12-killer with the Big Ten transition coming) were the Lanning operation's showcase. The 2023 season — 4,508 passing yards, 45 touchdowns, three interceptions across 14 games, a Pac-12 Championship loss to Washington that decided the last Pac-12 title — was the best year a Pac-12 quarterback produced in the era and the cleanest argument the conference made for its own continued relevance before the breakup. The Broncos took him 12th overall in 2024.
